In the scope of his research, Hauke Witte is numerically investigating the heat transfer in the context of integrated aero engines. For this, the geometry of the bypass duct is designed in a first step. The sensitivities of the design with respect to the heat transfer are then investigated and a reduced-order model is developed.

Additionally, scale-resolving simulations (LES) of microstructures increasing the heat transfer coefficient are carried out in this sub-project.
